Amit Aggarwal's Morphe was one of the more eagerly awaited shows of the day and it lived up to all the hype and expectations. The exceptionally avant garde collection consisted of structured pieces in shades of black, brown, grey, caramel, yellow and orange which had metal yarns, elastane and mesh-like metallic 3D detailing. The sculpted pieces with exaggerated power shoulders gave the show a very space-age, futuristic feel. Designers in India, while amazing at what they do and extremely talented, aren't very experimental - sure, they may try out new fabrics and new patterns and play around with different trends but the designs in themselves aren't exactly out of the ordinary so I love it when designers like Amit Aggarwal come out with collections that are unique and unexpected and outlandish instead of playing it safe. The final silvery-grey sleeveless mesh dress was my favorite piece of the show.
