Wearing: Tight Tigers Milli in The Hood, Report Shoes Leeton Platforms

Tight Tigers was founded by Claire Coppins in 2010 and has some of the most fun collections I have ever seen. With lots of sequins and lace, the pieces are all brilliant and have what she describes as "a splash of rock 'n' roll with a cheeky pinch of de la soul." What I love about this sequin hoodie-dress that Claire so kindly sent me, besides that fact that it is the most DAZZLING piece of clothing anyone has ever seen, is that is that despite being covered in sequins, it is super comfortable. The lining inside keeps the sequins from ever touching you, which may sound like a stupid thing to like about any apparel but have you ever worn a sequin dress/top that doesn't have a good lining? I have and I can promise you, it is a far from pleasant experience.

I love Mary Janes so it's no surprise that these Leeton platforms I got from Report (which has an amazing range of shoes that you should check out STAT) is my favorite from my vast collection of six pairs of shoes. The shape is so incredibly gorgeous and the platform is just high enough that you can wear it for hours without feeling a thing.

I'm not big on the whole New Year's resolutions thing but I'm definitely going to try and post a little more regularly from now on. And if I manage for get into the Fashion Institute of Technology for the Fall 2012 session, I may just {fingers crossed} be posting from New York in some time!

Alapana & Neeraj had a paradoxical collection with spider-like metal, and plastic structures over delicate, feminine chiffon and bandage pieces in soft shades of aqua, beige, baby pink, and greys. I preferred the first half which consisted of simple, ruched dresses, and draped gowns to the second half which had similar pieces but with added plastic overlays. What I really loved was their concept of clothes being like our modern day versions of protective shields. Designers often come with amazing concepts that sound good on paper but don't translate so well into reality but Alpana & Neeraj did an excellent job of turning their concept into a collection that was not only gorgeous but also brilliantly executed.

Savio Jon's laid back, relaxed collection was one of my personal favorites of the day. It was definitely very Alexander Wang-y, with the woven, knit and macramé slouchy pants, flowy dresses and loose jackets in sombre shades of greys, dusty pinks, beiges, and dull blues, with a few tie and dye pieces thrown into the mix. The designer managed to perfectly balance the minimalist theme without it becoming boring or repetitive. The pieces were all very wearable and perfect for the lounging around in during the summer. The designs weren't groundbreaking, the detailing wasn't anything out of the ordinary and the color palette wasn't very experimental but it was the simplicity of this collection that I loved.

Shantanu Goenka's collection was said to be inspired the French Queen Mary Antoinette but it seemed a lot more inspired by Alexander McQueen's Fall 2010 RTW collection, which he stated in his press release. The whole collection may not have been an exact copy of the late designer's but some of the pieces came pretty close. The similarity was far too obvious - it appeared as though the pieces weren't just inspired by, but were almost exact replicas McQueen's work.

Anand Bushan's collections are many things but boring is never one of them - his designs are always exciting and fresh. A lot of designers this time worked the tribal theme into their collection but Anand Bhushan did it perfectly, incorporating tribal elements into otherwise modern and sophisticated pieces effortlessly. He played around with cut outs, snakeskin prints, 3D elements and draping on pieces in silk chiffon, organza, lightweight dull crepe and laser-cut georgette. The textured pieces with feather and sequin detailing were stunning although some of the ivory hued dresses were a little too flouncy for my liking. I loved the textured coral pink sculpted dress as well as the silvery-grey sleeveless dress with sequin and feather detailing at the bottom.

Keeping with the architectural theme of his previous collections, Atsu Sekhose's collection had body hugging pencil skirts, fitted dresses with layered peplums and structured jackets. The palette was consisted of mainly whites and nudes with bursts of powder blues, oranges, and vibrant pinks and yellows. It was a gorgeous collection, impeccably made with great attention given to every little detail. Intricate embroidery and appliqué detailing accentuated the extremely feminine voile, silk and organza pieces. With cinched waists, layered peplums, knee-length hems and ruffle detailing the show seemed inspired by the 40s and 80s. The final piece was a canary yellow jacket paired with a sheer yellow maxi skirt which has little flower detailing at the bottom - there is no denying that it was beautiful but is just me or was it a little too similar to what was seen on the Givenchy Fall and Spring 2011 Couture runways?

With a palette that consisted of mostly icy grays with a few light tangerines and blush highlights thrown in, Namrata Joshipura's collection epitomized chic minimalism. Crisp blazers, sheer tops with slight sequin detailing and belted shirt dresses dominated the runway. The show was extraordinary well put together - it was cohesive and each piece reflected the cool, modern theme of the show perfectly. Unlike Sanchita, Namrata managed to use the sequin detailing to her advantage, tastefully balancing out the the shimmer they added to the pieces by using them on softer, more delicate colors. Every piece was gorgeous but there were a few like the sheer maxi skirt over the black sequin body suit, the oversized grey blazer with sequin detailing down one side, the silk wrap skirts and the sheer nude top with sequin detailing down the front paired with fitted shorts covered in blush sequins and a blush blazer were my personal favorites.

The Sanchita show began with an array of colorful bikinis with crystal detailing which were pretty (I'm still not sure how wearable or comfortable the jewel detailing is though) followed by a series of dresses, tops, jackets and pants in loud colors and prints, dripping with sequins. The batwing sleeves, kimono-style dresses and use of paper silk and and satin indicated a strong Japanese influence in the collection. There were a few pieces like the white tunics with blue sequin detailing and the coral pink one shouldered gown with slight feather detailing that I thought were nice but there were a lot more pieces like the pink sleeveless dress with fabric-ruffle detailing at the bottom and chain and flower detailing on the shoulder, the colorful sequin jumpsuit and the draped yellow tops with sequin detailing that I thought were garish and gaudy, bordering on tacky. It was, in my opinion, one of the less amazing shows of the day.

Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week SS'12 - MORPHE by AMIT AGGARWAL

Amit Aggarwal's Morphe was one of the more eagerly awaited shows of the day and it lived up to all the hype and expectations. The exceptionally avant garde collection consisted of structured pieces in shades of black, brown, grey, caramel, yellow and orange which had metal yarns, elastane and mesh-like metallic 3D detailing. The sculpted pieces with exaggerated power shoulders gave the show a very space-age, futuristic feel. Designers in India, while amazing at what they do and extremely talented, aren't very experimental - sure, they may try out new fabrics and new patterns and play around with different trends but the designs in themselves aren't exactly out of the ordinary so I love it when designers like Amit Aggarwal come out with collections that are unique and unexpected and outlandish instead of playing it safe. The final silvery-grey sleeveless mesh dress was my favorite piece of the show.

Everybody left the main show area for Rajesh Pratap Singh's open air show and the fact they willingly endured the heat and the mosquitoes is a testament this designer's genius - the collection spectacular. His signature use of modern-meets-traditional designs was evident in the variations of his take on the shirt dress in hot pinks, bright oranges, grays, and metallics cinched at the waist with gold belts, the dhoti pants, and the boxy jackets in ikat, and geometric print handloom textiles from Orissa. The most obvious use of this combination was in the bright pink printed sari that was paired with a light grey leather vest. The pieces were not only well constructed but were all very well stylized and the collection had a perfect balance of minimalist designing with bold colors and prints. The pieces with star, butterfly and firefly prints gave the show just the right amount of fun and whimsy it needed.
A lot of times collections look amazing on the runway but aren't very wearable or just don't look that good off the runway but this collection checked both boxes - I think it goes without saying that it was the best of the day.

Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week SS'12 - 'MY VILLAGE' by RIMZIM DADU

Rimzim Dadu's collection of structured pieces in light greens, powder blues, coral pinks and metallic shades was definitely one of my favorites. She clearly took a risk with the unusual designs and detailing but it was risk well worth taking - the collection was absolutely stunning. The androgynous boxy jackets, the textured skirts and the dresses with 3D detailing were just some of the things that made this collection such a success. Futuristic and fashion-forward, this collection isn't exactly what one would expect from an Indian designer and is such a refreshing change from the usual slew of Indian-meets-Western fusion wear that most designers here love.

The mint green dress with 3D swirl detailing, the half silvery-blue and half see through dress, and the green-blue and pink textured mini dress with a fitted bodice and leaf detailing on the collar and border were my favorite pieces of the collection.

While Gauri and Nainika's collection was so completely centered on the forties theme that the pieces were all almost the same, the Malini Ramani show seemed to have no particular theme at all. The show started with black, blue and white tie-die pieces with cowboy-style fringe detailing, flowing gypsy dresses and skirts and colorful pieces with mirror work and segued into pieces in neon greens, pinks and yellows - it seemed like a series of garments had been picked at random and sent down the runway. There was nothing holding the show together, nothing that pulled all the pieces together and made the show distinct from the sea of others.

The fringed dresses in neon colors were interesting but the pieces with colorful mirror work on off white bases were a little too ostentatious for my liking. The tie-die chiffon maxi dresses however, were gorgeous and the slight slight sequin work on them was perfection.

Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week SS'12 - GAURI AND NAINIKA

The Gauri and Nainika show had a 40s theme and was inspired by European fashion history, art, old Hollywood and red carpet glamour. It all sounds well and good on paper but the show did not translate as well into reality as one would have expected. When you think forties, you think skinny-fit A-line dresses, pencil skirts, cinched in waists, and while the show had all that, the fact that each piece looked like a various of the previous one left something to be desired. The designers' attempt to modernize the fitted A-line dresses of the forties by adding ruffles to the sides and the back wasn't exactly successful either as the end result was pieces that accentuated "problem areas" and were unflattering. I did like the use of crepe de chine as it worked well with the kind of pieces the duo was producing although the gold buttons they used looked tacky. I am not a fan of jumpsuits but these ones were extremely well tailored and looked fantastic on the runway. If I had to pick, the black A-line dress with slight pleats was probably my favorite of all the pieces.

Arushi, Naina and I went to Malavika's house the other day for dinner and since we were all dressed up, what better time for an impromptu photoshoot, right? It was one in the morning and the street lamp was the only source of light but I quite like the final product (Thank you, Mali!).

Moving on to more pressing matters.

I was talking to a friend the other day about existential therapy (because thats what we are studying in psychology right now) and I how I felt that it is just an excuse for lots of "me time" and was pretty self indulgent when she pointed out that I want to work in fashion someday and fashion is self indulgent. Which, now that I think about it, is to a certain extent true. Spending a sum close to the monthly income of a small family in a third world country on something like a handbag is pretty self indulgent but here is what I think is the difference between something like fashion and, in this case, existential therapy - people in fashion don't pretend to not be self indulgent. We don't pretend that the things we do have some great purpose or that the reason we're doing them is for some ultimate greater good.

But this got me thinking - are the people working in fashion self indulgent?

Fashion to me is a field where you have to work hard but can still have fun. Its a field where you will need to use your grey matter contrary to what some people think. Because marketing is no easy thing, my friend. Take it from someone who has been studying it for over a year. but can also use your creativity. Its a field that is exciting and challenging and if you're good at what you're doing, extremely rewarding maybe not monetarily, but there are other ways in which a job can be rewarding! *cough*freeclothes*cough* - which is not something you can say for every job out there.

I am in two minds about this because I feel that people working in fashion aren't self indulgent because at the end of the day, they work hard and even though it may be fun, it's by no means an easy field to be in. However, I do feel that simply buying lots of clothes and pretty shoes and expensive handbags is, at some level, self indulgent. Maybe I'm just biased towards the former because I too hope to work in fashion some day.
HOWEVER, if the people who simply like to buy lots of clothes and pretty shoes and expensive handbags didn't exist, the many different jobs there are in fashion wouldn't exist either. So we need self indulgent people to support the industry, right?
I'm going to stop because this could go on forever.

Is a field that caters to the vain needs of The Rich Folk self indulgent? Or is it merely the Rich Folk who are self indulgent?

how soon is now

I've never really been a big fan of animal prints and leopard print is no exception - except in the case of these gorgeous Matiko Ty wedges. I love that the whole shoe isn't leopard print; the contrast between the super plain black leather front and the leopard print pony hair back makes it one of the few really unique pairs that are stylish and stand out without being too ostentatious and in your face. It fits slightly higher up on the ankle so you can't really wear it with shorts or a dress but it's perfect for wearing with a pair of black skinny jeans or fitted pants.

Another good thing about these is that they aren't awfully high, which is great because then your feet don't die within half an hour of wearing them AND since it has cutouts you can wear it in both the summer and winter. So basically they're just pretty fucking fantastic.

In other news, I just started reading my very first Star Wars (Episode 1: The Phantom Menace) and ZOMGZZZ its so good. I didn't think I'd like it very much because I'm not really that into the movies - I remember trying to watch one of them a long time back and being thoroughly bored - but I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit.

they’re sharing a drink they call loneliness but it’s better than drinking alone

I mentioned in my previous post that I was going for a vacation with my family and I feel that it is of vital importance that you know that we had lots of fun.
The reason I had such a good time was mostly because instead of going out and doing tourist-y things like we usually do on vacations, we stayed in the hotel for the most part. Which is awesome because I LOVE staying at hotels. The beds are always so comfy and large and the pillows and towels are always so perfectly white and fluffy and the bathrooms always have tubs which means you can take bubble baths three times a day and and you get to eat a buffet breakfast everyday and I LOVE that hotel lobby smell that all big hotels have. It's probably one of my most favorite smells in the world. Is that odd? It probably is.

The resort we stayed at first was so gorgeous and the weather was perfect. I didn't get any photos of my room because it was in a mess within the first four minutes of me being in it. We only stayed here for one day which was sad but the hotel we stayed at after this was pretty awesome too.

Chocolate doughnuts for breakfast? HELLZ YAH.

I have a friend who loves The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy and I have been meaning to read it for along time but never got around to it so I got a copy from the library before we left and I love it! It's so good, I can't believe I didn't read it earlier. The Perks of Being a Wallflower has been on my "To Read" list for the longest time and I'm almost through with it but I quite like what I have read so far. I've just started Blue Eyed Boy which is supposed to be pretty eerie but I haven't gotten started on Blink yet even though I was supposed to be through with it quite some time ago.

I mentioned in an earlier post that the Matiko team very generously sent me two pairs of shoes - this pair right here is the Cavala. I love that they have a slightly worn in look and don't look too patent/plasticky.
I'm still trying to figure out what I can wear it with but in the meanwhile they make for great home accessories! And while I haven't figured out how to style them, I have ~~gleefully~~ ~~pranced around in them, being the super cool fashionista that I am~~ tried them on and they are amazingly comfortable. I literally have to tear myself away from them every time I pull them out of their box - they're just so pretttty.
I would definitely recommend investing in a pair of Matiko shoes - they have everything from simple styles like the Shiloh to slightly more "out there" pieces like the Sachi so no matter what your style, you're bound to find something great at Matiko.

And good news! We're going to be going to a few places in the last week of the vacations and we're staying at these uber fancy hotels and while my parents and sister plan to go out and sight see and do tourist-y stuff, I plan to spend all my time in the hotel either by the pool or by the buffet table. OH. YEAH. Happy times are a-coming. :D

Just finished watching the second season of Vampire Diaries and HOW GOOD IS THAT SHOW and ZOMG ZOMG DAMON ISN'T GOING DIE and WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO STEFAN and WHY ARE ANNA AND VICKY BACK? :O
Speaking of awesome TV shows, how awful is it that Hellcats got cancelled? I KNOW it isn't exactly groundbreaking television but it was still pretty entertaining and it was so fun to look at all the good looking people prancing around just being beautiful.
AND how good is Californication? It is hands down my favorite TV show and every time you think it couldn't possible get any better - BAM - it gets better. I can't wait for it to restart. And the second season of Modern Family starts on TV in a few days (yeah, yeah, I know, things in India start 348973248792379 years after the rest of the world, thats just how things roll here) which is AWESOME because I literally have nothing to do with my time and that means another half hour every weekday is taken care of .... till the season gets over after which my plan is basically to flail about helplessly.

FUN FACT: Holidays are no fun when every person you know has jet-setted off to far away lands and you're stuck at home with only your SAT books to keep you company.

^^As you can clearly tell, I'm living the good life. ~~(she said bitterly)~~

I think I've used up my whinefested-per-blog-post time so I should probably shut up now.

OH! Before I forget, you're probably wondering where I found this mind numbingly awesome leather jacket from, right? It was sent to me by this stupid amazing Swedish label called Modekungen which has SO MANY drool worthy things it's insane. Check out their website and be prepared to find yourself devoid of all your pocket money.
The skirt is from AL&ALICIA which you have already heard me raving about here and here and here. I honestly don't need to say much about the label, the clothes pretty much speak from themselves. They are a little bit on the more expensive side but SO worth it because the pieces are really versatile and quality is superb. hello to you sunny road, was it as good as I have been told?

This gorgeous Plastic Island skirt is easily one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe and as you can see, between me and Arushi, it's pretty much been worn to death BUT DON'T GET ME WRONG, I still plan to keep wearing it till the very last sequin falls out. The oversized knit top is from Forever 21 and is pretty much my go to piece to throw over a pair of jeans when I'm having "I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!" crisis.

I also feel like I should point out that this is my THIRD post in a span of ten days and I think this means that I'm finally getting back on track i.e. no more blogging just once a month, which is a very good thing. This might have something do with the fact that we have holidays and other than the pile of psychology, math, business studies and economics books I need to somehow embed into my memory before August and online TV, I pretty much have NOTHING to do since we're the ONLY people staying in town and not going out. But I digress. I need to wrap this up because we're going out for dinner and I have all of three minutes to get dressed! Yikes. :s

Holidays started last Friday so that means that I PROBABLY post more than once every three months. I've still got piles and piles of studies to do what with this being twelfth grade and all but c'est la vie.

The picture quality is awful, I know, but it was late and so I had to take the pictures indoors and the lighting in my room isn't exactly conducive to great photos. So yeah. :\

Full disclosure: I don't really care about the killer clothes all that much but the food - GIMME IT.

Am I the only one who thinks that these are redonkulously cool? They're like updated, groovier versions of the 70s disco shoes - for the fucking winnnnn!

I recently found out that Emma Watson has a stylist (yeah, yeah, I know, I live under a rock) and she just doesn't seem as awesome anymore.

I always thought that she dressed herself but if it's a stylist putting together all her looks I don't see what all the fuss regarding her having such a great sense of style is all about. :\

Was everyone else aware of the fact that there is a Gossip Girl board game or is this just another instance of my being completely out of touch with the outside world? Gossip Girl ftw and everything but this is just plain stupid.

The goal of the game is to "Be the last player standing and get everyone else's allowance money."

.... WHAT?! I'm so baffled. :s

On a more fashion blogger-y note, exams are over (YAY!) and I still haven't put up an outfit post.

This may or may not have something to do with the fact that these are the ONLY holidays where we literally have NOTHING to do because we're done with 11th grade and haven't started 12th grade so there is no school work or anything to be done due to which I have taken to living in sweatpants, sleeping at 3 in the morning and not waking up before 12.

I know I haven't posted in forever and I have a perfectly good excuse: Final Exams.

My dress is from Motel Rocks which as I may or may not have pointed out before is ridiculously awesome. This has kind of become my go-to dress for all occasions because it is so adorable and super comfortable. AND IT HAS A KISSY FACE ON IT. How can you not love this dress? How?

I wore this outfit to the Diesel Democratic Party which Arushi and I attended a few days back. I threw on a blazer and a pair of stockings because it was pretty cold out and I tend to start freezing the minute the temperature drops below 90 degrees.

May I just say ... PRAWNS FTW ♥

It was Arushi's birthday the other day so Naina, Malavika (she took all the photos - thank you very much!) and I went out to lunch to celebrate.

I wore my new Motel Rocks printed dress which was sent to me a while back. I like that the print is a part of the fabric and not the usual plastic stick-on print that most designer/labels use. I've said about 46872648326742 before that I am not very fond of bright colors and shmazzy prints but pieces like these are exceptions because they somehow don't look all that ostentatious despite the bright colors/bold print. (Or is that just in my mind?)

The dress is all wrinkled because we only halfway through the lunch decided to play fashionista and start taking pictures and by then the damage was already done. Whoops! :\

The thing I like about Motel is that the pieces are not only of such amazing quality but are also super reasonably priced. With almost everything under £50, they have the hugest selection of just about everything from dresses and knitwear to tops and vintage pieces.

In other news, I'm arranging a fab giveaway for you guys which will be coming up soon!

There are thousands upon thousands of fashion blogs on the Web today. It seems that just about

everyone who has ever been complimented on an outfit or knows how to spot something too "matchy-

matchy" claims to be the internet's latest style guru. We'll leave it to you to trust your favorite

blogger's judgment on what's in and what's out (hopefully you know by now to trust us), but there's no

denying the fact that fashion bloggers from all over are contributing to the world of fashion.

Even particularly spotty fashion blogs can still recruit an army of consistent readers (i.e.consumers).

This gives designers a chance to advertise their clothing to countless pairs of eyes for an insignificantly

small price, if any price at all. As long as bloggers are not insulting, it makes little difference to

designers what the blocks of words that appear on the same screen as their clothing actually mean. The

key is getting the fashion exposed to as many people as possible, and designers will have better success

by featuring their clothing on a style blog than they would plastering it on a billboard.

Honestly, human beings are simpler than you might think. When browsing fashion blogs, most people

do not engage in high cognitive processing. Instead, they rely upon the use of heuristics, or cues and

experience, to make a mental decision about what they've just seen. In other words, it's not that deep.

The average thought process of someone browsing a fashion blog may constitute the following: "That's

nice and so is the boy/girl in it...I'd like to look like him/her...This clothing is featured on this blog,

therefore it must be stylish...I'd like to get that or something similar." You, on the other hand, may be

far more critical about the elements of fashion that style blogs present to you, but the majority of style

blog-browsers are not.

Fashion bloggers have actually served to boost designers' PR and revenue. If a reader relates to a

fashion blog, and that blog later recommends a certain fashion designer, the reader, upholding high

esteem for the blog, will accept this recommendation as credible. Designers are far from clueless about

the positive impact style bloggers can have on reputation and sales. In fact, fashion blogs have become

one of the highest desired types of social media in the world of fashion. Ultimately, you have the ability

to decide what you'll buy, but next time think carefully about what may be influencing your decision to

purchase!

As you can probably guess, I am obsessed. I've been DYING to get my hands on a pair of JC Litas but they're all out of my size so I'm just going to have to wait for the next lot to come in. *fingers crossed that I can get my hands on a pair before they're all sold out*

Also my house is currently being painted so all the cupboards are locked up and all the rooms sealed so an outfit post is simply out of the realm of possibility but I'm going to try and work something out soon!

A lot of my pictures - and by "a lot" I mean "all" - of my pictures are side or back shots and this is because firstly, I couldn't stand with the press and take photographs (which is what I usually do when I attend such events) because my heels were far too high for strenuous activities like standing with a 500 pound camera (I don't use a tripod) just to click good pictures. And secondly, I was seated in the middle section, so I was neither near the end or the beginning of the ramp and hence, could not get any straight shots.

PHEW.

There. Now you know why I don't have any head on shots. Oh, ALSO. I prefer to use pictures taken by me as opposed to ones taken by others. So I guess I could have put up proper pictures of the show but I just didn't want to.

I wonder why I am still rambling on about this like it is the most interesting thing in the world. I'm stopping now.

Tarun Tahiliani closed Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week and his collection was easily one of the most gorgeous of all that I had seen in the five days. (There were other designers like Prashant Verma and Nandita Basu who had amazing collections as well but this one had a billion tulle pieces and as you can tell, I am a fan. Prashant Verma's collection had the most fabulous concept and it was so well executed but we shall talk about that some other time.) If any of you are interested in seeing more than just snippets i.e what the collection really looked liked, you can check out more photographs here.

Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week SS'11 - Day 1

So Wills India Fashion Week SS'11 had officially begun today (well, technically, it began yesterday since I am posting this at one in the morning) and it was a fabulous start to the five day event. Gaurav & Ritika and JJ Valaya were two labels which really stood out because of their gorgeous, gorgeous collections. JJ Valaya's collection had these amazing tulle saris which were totally beyond and G&R had these super structured, futuristic pieces in metallic shades which I fell in love with the minute they stepped onto the runway.

ALSO. Fab news - I am going to writing on behalf of Wills Lifestyle for the event so don't forget to head over to their facebook and twitter pages to catch all the action live!

Here is what I wore to the first day -

I wore a black Brigid Catiis blazer which was gifted to me by Raissa who is the head designer of the eco-friendly label a while back. They have some pretty adorable stuff which I shall talk about in more detail some other time ~~when I am not falling asleep on the keyboard whilst I type~~.

The pumps are from F21 and the printed dress is from IHaveNoClueWhere in case anyone was even remotely interested.

So Arushi, Naina and I went out for a party the other night and I wore this gorgeous printed dress with the super adorable Topshop Wisteria wedges. I am a little bit obsessed with wedges (as you shall see in the next few outfit posts) and these have the to be the most lovely pair I have ever worn. Even if they gave shoe bites that I am still nursing. And ... I have nothing else to say.

*insert awkward silence*

Um. Still a little iffy about these outfit posts. I mean, I want to do them but every time I'm about to hit "Publish Post" I just feel really awkward. Maybe I just need to grow into it? MEH.

I threw this gorgeous blazer that the people over at AL&ALICIA sent me on top which, as some of you may remember, I also wore to FNO. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this label because the clothes are so insanely pretty and so simple and so chic. And I'm pretty sure I've said this once and I'm going to say it again, this HAS to be the most comfortable article of clothing I have ever owned in my entire life. The inner lining is so deliciously soft that taking this blazer off makes you want to cry. No, seriously, LOOK >>

Don't you just want to snuggle up in it and never wake up?

I'm not going to lie, the clothes aren't exactly cheap but they are SO worth the price. The quality is fabulous and the styles are so wearable. There have been so many instances where I have loved something in the store, bought it and never worn it and this is something that you know will never happen with AL&ALICIA clothing because there is no way you can have one of these items in your wardrobe and not wear them. Take it from someone who is always trying to wear this blazer everywhere she goes. Even when it is a million degrees outside. << True story.

So! An outfit post. FINALLY.

To be completely honest, I am not so sure about whether I love the idea of doing these outfit posts or not.

And don't even get me started on the process of taking the photos!

Firstly, using a self timer is NOT fun. You click on the button, run to your place and pose. Which is SO ODD. Oh, and thats not even the bad part. My mother fucking tripod was being a total bitch and it took me about 43892749283749 bazillion hours to get it to work. Grr.

And I've never been very comfortable with having pictures of me taken so getting someone to take them for me is out of the realm of possibility but yeah, taking them myself isn't a very fun experience either. Kudos to the bloggers out there who manage to get kick-ass photos using a self-timer.

I was talking to my mom about this and she thinks that putting up outfit posts on your blog is too narcissistic for words. So my question to you is:

Do you think that outfit posts are just a way of shamelessly self-promoting?
